Top Crypto Holdings in a Bear Market: Solana, Near, and Chainlink
Current Crypto Holdings in a Bear Market
Good afternoon, my degenerate crypto friends. How are you doing this fine afternoon? Crypto has been incredibly boring lately, with no significant movement. So today, I'm going to discuss what I'm currently holding during this bear market.
Solana: A Leading Blockchain
Let's start with my first coin, Solana, which is ranked number seven in market cap. Everyone knows Solana; it's arguably the most used blockchain out there. The coins I'm holding are those I believe are getting real adoption, especially from financial institutions. I want to invest in something that should increase in value because it's being used, not just for speculation. Sana is known as the fastest smart contract blockchain and has been tested extensively with memecoin trading. It's a leading chain for tokenized stocks, stablecoin payments, and consumer apps. Institutions like Visa have expanded USC settlement experiments on Solana, and firms such as BlackRock have begun supporting Solana-based assets. It has become one of the strongest institutional layer ones after Ethereum, with Visa and Mastercard working on it, leading to significant tokenization of real-world assets like stocks and bonds.
Near: Gaining Traction
The next coin I hold is Near, currently ranked at 34. Near has recently gone up about 100% over the past couple of months, which is why it's second in my portfolio. While it may not have mainstream adoption, it's gaining traction in the crypto world, ranking in the top five for wallets and developers. It's also gaining interest for infrastructure in AI agents, although financial institutions are more interested in its technology than deploying it. Despite not being heavily adopted by institutions, it's doing well in the crypto and AI sectors.
Chainlink: Essential Infrastructure
Chainlink is ranked number 18 and is considered the backbone of everything, arguably the most important infrastructure project for institutional finance. Banks and asset managers use Chainlink for tokenized assets, cross-chain communication, and price feeds. Partners and pilots include Swift, DTCC, Fidelity, UBS, JP Morgan, and many others. Although there's debate about whether the LINK token is necessary, the Chainlink project is widely used, and I want to hold as much LINK as possible.
Avalanche: Strong Enterprise Focus
Avalanche, or Avac, has been quietly moving and remains in the top 20 to 30. It has a strong enterprise focus, with financial firms using it to build permissioned blockchain networks for tokenized funds, private markets, and digital assets. Institutions like JP Morgan, Citi, and Deloitte have participated in Avalanche-related pilots. It's heavily involved in tokenization, making it a great layer one to hold. Although its all-time high was around $150, it's currently at $6.68, and I continue to buy, although I'm nearing my limit for buying dips.
Polygon: Leader in Tokenization
Polygon is ranked at 67, but don't be fooled. Originally a layer two built on Ethereum, it has become a leader in real-world asset tokenization. Enterprise blockchain companies like Mastercard, Stripe, and Franklin Templeton have launched projects on Polygon. Previously used for games, it's now heavily involved in tokenization. At 8 cents, it's a great hold, especially considering its all-time high was over $2.
BNB: The Cream of the Crop
Lastly, I have BNB, which I consider the cream of the crop. Although I sold some earlier, I've bought back and am currently up on BNB. It's heavily adopted, representing Binance, the largest exchange in the world, and its blockchain, which sees significant use. While its adoption is driven mainly by Binance's exchange and ecosystem, it has substantial retail usage, DeFi, and payments. BNB is involved in tokenization, which is crucial for me as Wall Street moves onto the blockchain.
Final Thoughts and Resources
That's my portfolio. If anyone watched this video, let me know what you think. Do you like any of these coins, or would you choose others? I also have free courses on my website explaining how crypto works, how to use wallets, and how to avoid losing money. It's all free, with no sales or clubs. Check it out so my efforts weren't in vain. I'll see you tomorrow, as I'll be streaming again on weekdays. Bye.
